I read this rather quickly not because I wanted to speed through for any reason but in order to get an overview of the book. From the brief time I spent among these few pages my appetite was primed for more. I hope to find the time to really ingest this material at a pace that allows for deeper reflection and understanding. I did find the ideas presented to be Biblically focused in some cases and in others certainly supportive of scriptural truths and admonitions to believers. Hayley DiMarco approaches a deep desire of most women from a sensitive yet convicting angle supporting her concepts with Biblical passages encouraging character development that follows what I believe to be a journey of growth the Lord desires in all our lives. While the book focuses primarily on our role as women in relationships with the men (especially boyfriends or husbands) in our lives as well as our unique relationship with the Lord as females with desires that vary from those of males, much of the character growth that is touted by the author would also apply in a general sense across the board. DiMarco simply contextualizes the materials and concepts into areas where we as women can contribute to the “mystery” that attracts males to the chase and causes them to want to keep the romance alive in a relationship with us.

The chapters also include some interactive material as well as prayers and journaling or thought provoking introspective questions to follow up the material that this author has brought together for us as women who find the emotional connection lacking in our relationships. Through it all though she brings everything back to our relationship with the Lord and points the focus back to finding provision for our needs and desires with Him first before we chase after human approval and relationships. Love and Romance will not be fully experienced as they were intended amongst fallible humans and the desires that God created within us were designed to draw us into deeper relationship with Him as the ultimate source of fulfilling them.
